ELECTROLYSIS    ELECTROLYSIS IS THE REVERSE OF WHAT HAPENS INSIDE VOLTAIC CELL.

During electrolysis electrons are removed from the negative electrode  and are gained by the positive electrode.                          In the electrolyte solution positive ions are moving towards the negative electrode and negative ions are moving towards positive electrode.

At the negative electrode:    Posittively  charged Na+ (aq) are attracted to the negative charges. They gain electrons and become Na atoms.

At the positive electrode:        Negative Cl- ions are attracted to the positive electrode where electrons are living chlorine ions. Two chlorine atoms join to form a chlorine molekule.
